Reflection 2018

Hard to believe this is the last day 2018. I can honestly say it’s been a great year. It started out with my idea of getting into the cake and cupcake business. Three months after not making a single dime, I threw in the baking mitts and decided to head back to the corporate world as a receptionist for an oil and gas company in Edmonton.  It’s been going great since April, but for some reason lately I feel like there should be more to my life then constantly working for someone else and worry almost daily about being laid off.

So, on December 1, 2018 I decided I’m going to work on relaunching my Virtual Assistant business. I have had the opportunity to offer my services for more than Twenty-Five years in various industries including; Mining, Oil & Gas, Building Construction, Pipeline and Industrial Fire Safety. My skills in the past include extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Internet Research and Social Media Marketing. Who wouldn’t want to work from home, be their own boss and work when they want. Let alone take all the holidays you want. Bonus of this business is that I can work from anywhere with a secure wifi connection.

The most exciting thing to happen to me this year, was the birth of Fancy’s foal Sunday. He was born on May 13, 2018 at 4:30am. You can read that whole story here.

In the fall of 2018, well October 1, 2018 to be exact. I decided enough was enough of being overweight and expecting my horse to haul it around barrels was totally unfair to her. In 2017, I had hired a personal trainer who did workouts and yoga for equestrians. We worked together I think it was for 3 months, I bought a gym membership and was good to go. I did nothing with it and just gave up. Didn’t care that I was overweight and just didn’t bother.

Then I had a few lessons with my horse trainer and I asked her to take pictures. Believe me, rolls do not look sexy on the back of a horse. I have the full story of that here

In 3 months, I was able to drop 17 pounds. My goal was 20 before Dec 31. I’m happy with 17 pounds, 2019 will be off to a good start. Here’s a quick blog for what I did to keep my weight at bay during the holidays

Well that in a nutshell was 2018 for me. It was a good year, but honestly, I can’t wait for 2019!
